Pilot Projects

The IRIS team is currently conducting pilot projects aimed at developing prior results and proof-of-concept for some of the key research thrusts being considered for the SII project, thereby reducing technical risk for some of the proposed research directions. In particular, we plan to leverage existing capabilities across the team to demonstrate some early results on

• THz communications;
• Co-existence with passive radio astronomy users; and
• Dynamic spectrum sharing in the NYC/COSMOS FCC Innovation Zone.
