Research Summary
Comprehensive research agenda which integrates key radio and spectrum innovations into system-level solutions
Research approach is interdisciplinary and cross-layer
Three distinct levels of research focus:
Innovations in radio fundamentals (new spectrum frontiers, emerging technology, measurements, theory)
Information architecture to enable visibility and efficient spectrum use (spectrum consumption models, protocols and algorithms)
System level solutions for licensed, unlicensed and shared bands, sharing with passive users, and creation of new markets for spectrum
Research on the above topics is informed by a top-down analysis of emerging mobile/wireless applications.
Research Methodology employs a seamless mix of theory, modeling, prototype development and real-world experimentation
COSMOS testbed/FCC innovation zone in NYC as the foundation
Advanced hardware design and experimental capabilities in SDR, mmWave, THz, ..
